*The dot design you see on this dress is not an actual pattern design, rather, it is actually embossed (raised) threading in the same color as the garment that creates the look. Some of the 'dots' may appear to be a lighter shade than the dress in some of the images, but it is just a result of flash photography. We kept the same fabric as our last DUO run (from two years ago), but got this beautiful textured dot version to update the look.
This style consists of a midi shift dress with maxi length panels that cover the front and back of the garment. The fit is based on the underdress (aka MIDI) as that is the dress that sits closest to the body. The panels connect to the midi by the shoulders and under the arm/chest area.
This underdress is not fitted, rather it is meant to hang as a slightly relaxed fit against the body with enough wiggle room in the waist/hips area. The style could be considered more of a 'shift' dress. Although there is no spandex in the woven fabric, it does have a little ‘give’, so it will move when you do. The shoulders and chest area are most true to size on the chart, so if you are broader in your chest/shoulders that you are in the rest of your body, we suggest sizing up for more ease of motion. Otherwise refer to the size chart below.
-This style is maternity friendly and can also provide ‘coverage’ early on if one needs (the panels can ‘hide’ the underdress when worn down). We suggest sizing up if you prefer to wear later in the pregnancy.
- Back zipper allows for easy access into this dress.
-Wrist length balloon sleeves with loose, elastic cuffs allow the wearer to move the sleeve up to the elbow for a 3/4 length style.
-Model is not wearing any slip under the Duo dresses, but we suggest nude colored undergarments or the #LinearFlipSlip or #linearSlipSkirt if you prefer any additional coverage.
-Please refer to the ‘Product Description’ tab for all the ways to wear this style.
SIZE GUIDE: If your sizing overlaps on the chart and you would like extra length or more wiggle room in the chest/shoulder area, try the larger of the two sizes.
XS- 0/2/4
SMALL- 4/6/8
MEDIUM-8/10
LARGE-12/14
XL: 14/16
1X:16/18
LENGTH/WIDTH GUIDE: Approximate lengths from shoulder to front hem at its shortest point. All measurements are taken when dress is on a flat surface. Approximate chest/hips measurements are measured across. Double for complete circumference.
GUIDE TO FINDING YOUR MEASUREMENTS:
LENGTHS- Place a measuring tape at the center point of one of your shoulders (Also known as HPS- High Point Shoulder). The '0' (zero) on the tape should be your starting point. Drop the tape and let it hang. It helps to look in a full length mirror to determine the length that suits you (If you prefer above, on or below the knee). For reference, average lengths (depending on your height) fall between 37-41inches on size XS. Since everyone's torso/leg lengths are different (even if two people are the same height), coverage length can never be exact. For all styles, we list the approximate lengths of our dresses measured from HPS. Please check the lengths to see if they work for you.
WIDTHS: Chest- Position the '0' (zero) of the measuring tape underneath one armpit aligning it as much as possible with the center part of your bust. Wrap around the circumference of your chest area until the tape matches point zero from the backside. Keep in mind that knits (stretchy styles) can accommodate widths that are broader than the listed dimensions due to fabric forgiveness, while wovens (fabric with minimal or no stretch) will only 'give' to a certain point. Usually, patterns are adjusted to work for sizing when the fabric is woven.
Hips- Repeat steps for measuring Chest, but start at the widest point of hips.
Arms- Repeat steps for measuring Chest, but start under armpit and measure around biceps.
