Model is 5'9 and wears size XS (she is size 4).
The #linearONESKIRT is the quintessential closet staple; neutral color options + easy style means you can wear it with practically...ANYTHING! Made with a light, summery gauze fabric, the flowy skirt will hold its shape but will still drape to perfection. A Wide elastic waistband means easy on/easy off. The seam detail found 3/4 of the way down the skirt lends a tromp l'oeil effect (is it midi/mini??!!). And... it has POCKETS (!!!)
The ONE skirt is pretty flowy in its silhouette. We added extra 'oomph' to the panels so we could avoid having the dreaded 'flat' effect; (you know those circle skirts that have no character and look a bit more like an amorphous blob...sorry, but...hehe/sigh).
Based on customer try-ons, most looked to the elastic wasitband for sizing (as it is A-line and can accomodate a wide variety of body types). Those who wanted less 'flow' sized down if they were between sizes on the chart (as the elastic does have more wiggle room due to its stretch.) Keep in mind this is based on customers who tried on the skirt with the elastic sitting on the narrowest part of their waist which is the intended way to wear and the base of our sizing chart. If you wear your skirts lower on your stomach/closer to the top of your hips, stick to your true size.
SIZE CHART- based on wearing the elastic on the narrowest part of your waist. if size is prefaced by 'small' you are a bit narrower on your waist or want less 'flow' (it wont be a major difference between sizes, but there are measurement changes to the width of each of the vertical panels to the skirt as you size up/down)
XS- 0/2/4
S- 6/8/SMALL 10
M-8/10/SMALL 12
L- 12/14
XL-14/16/18
MEASUREMENTS FOR THE SKIRT-
Length is taken from the top of the elastic waistband to the bottom of the skirt. Double the width of the elastic waistband to get the full circumference.
GUIDE TO FINDING YOUR MEASUREMENTS:
LENGTHS- Place a measuring tape at the center point of one of your shoulders (Also known as HPS- High Point Shoulder). The '0' (zero) on the tape should be your starting point. Drop the tape and let it hang. It helps to look in a full length mirror to determine the length that suits you (If you prefer above, on or below the knee). For reference, average lengths (depending on your height) fall between 37-41inches on size XS. Since everyone's torso/leg lengths are different (even if two people are the same height), coverage length can never be exact. For all styles, we list the approximate lengths of our dresses measured from HPS. Please check the lengths to see if they work for you.
WIDTHS: Chest- Position the '0' (zero) of the measuring tape underneath one armpit aligning it as much as possible with the center part of your bust. Wrap around the circumference of your chest area until the tape matches point zero from the backside. Keep in mind that knits (stretchy styles) can accommodate widths that are broader than the listed dimensions due to fabric forgiveness, while wovens (fabric with minimal or no stretch) will only 'give' to a certain point. Usually, patterns are adjusted to work for sizing when the fabric is woven.
Hips- Repeat steps for measuring Chest, but start at the widest point of hips.
Arms- Repeat steps for measuring Chest, but start under armpit and measure around biceps. For arm length, measurements on the caftan are taken from the HPS (where the shoulder meets the neckline) down to the end of the sleeve.
